A LEGO Harry Potter Afternoon

The weather has been terrible, and today wasn't any different. It was cold, rainy, and it hailed, so the kids had a long afternoon to fill in the house. Annalise, Keaton, Wilson, and Holden had a great time playing with the Harry Potter LEGOs. It was fun to listen to them play:)

I really enjoy having Annalise and Keaton here after school, they have grown up so much. Holden and Wilson look forward to their arrival every day!

New Project Moving Right Along

Ever since we moved the red, oriental cabinet upstairs, I have wanted this space in our basement to be used efficiently. I thought it would be nice to have this as a storage, homework, and computer space. I have been watching ksl.com for some kitchen cabinets to put there. I have seen lots of used oak cabinets, and I thought about buying used and painting them (just to keep this project inexpensive). Most of the cabinets have been in Sandy, Draper, or Utah County, so I wasn't sure how we would get them home. So, for a long time I have just looked and not moved on anything I have seen.
On Saturday afternoon I took a quick peek on ksl.com, and there it was...in FARMINGTON, brand new cabinets for the same price we would have paid for the used, oak cabinets. Ken called, and we went over (about two miles from our house), and left with boxes of new cabinets! I was so excited!
Ken put all of the cabinets together, and then installed them last night (with minor help from me:) Ken has done such a great job! Now we just need a counter top, and to fill the cupboards up (that will be the easiest part!)
Stay tuned for more updates as this space evolves into the efficient use of space I wanted!

Josef Dressing Up

Josef came running out of his room with two shirts on and his pants almost falling off of him. He ran back to his room, and by the time I grabbed the camera his pants had fallen off, and he was putting them back on by himself.

Josef putting his pants on backward, then looking for more shirts to put on himself.

Trying to put another shirt on...

He got that shirt, now he is trying for a hoodie sweatshirt...He did get it over his face. Later He came out of his room really distressed trying to take the shirts off over his head, so I did help him take them off... But I think he is ready to start dressing himself!

Random Pictures of the Week

I just took a picture of the boys, and went to upload them, and realized I took pictures this week, but did not upload them. Here are some random "happenings" around our house this week...

Wilson and Holden wearing their Happy Meal boxes as hats and making funny faces before bed.

Josef eating cantaloupe, and playing peek a boo with me at the counter.

Wilson reading Hop on Pop to his "twiner" brother Holden. I saw this, and loved that Wilson was reading to Holden, and then chuckled because I realized they had both picked out the exact same clothes to wear today!

Wilson's Kindergarten Class

I can't believe that Wilson is almost finished with Kindergarten. He has had the sweetest teacher, Ms. Glade. Wilson is a great student, and he especially loves to read!

Holdenisms

I need to write these down before I forget...

Easter morning Holden came running to me and said, "Mom, you just gotta believe me, he came, the Easter bunny came!!!" He was so excited, and passionate just like he always is!

During Sacrament Meeting, I overheard him tell Wilson, "you think you are great, but I am the GREATEST!"

The little guy test my patience often, but he makes me smile often too!

The Dynamic Duo

This morning, I ran downstairs to get something from our storage room. When I came back upstairs, it was way too quiet. I started looking for Josef & Stone. I noticed that the sliding glass door was open, but the screen was closed. I could hear the two boys talking to each other, and this is what I found! I just hope and pray they make it through this phase without really getting hurt!

Holden's Potion

Wilson and Luke went in the backyard to play, and Holden went in the bathroom to go potty. After a while, I realized Holden was still in the bathroom, so I went to check on him. This is what I found...

Holden was in the bathroom, and I asked him what he was doing, he told me he was "making potion!" I asked him with what and he said, "toothpaste, toothpaste, soap, and soap!" He had Wilson's electric toothbrush, in his hand mixing up the potion in the toilet. I asked him which toothbrushes he had used, and he said, "all of them!"

I took all three toothbrushes to throw them in the garbage and he stood in front of the garbage can trying to convince me that they did not need to be thrown away. I told them they had been in the toilet where he goes poo poo and pee pee, and so they needed to go. He said, "no mom I didn't poop or pee on them..." He was pretty upset, as you can probably tell from the picture. I guess they all need new toothbrushes tonight! Holden's mind is way too busy for me...

Josef LOVES Chocolate

This afternoon after Josef got up from his nap, he pushed the chair over to where he could climb up, and get a jar of chocolate Easter candy. He opened the candy, and ate it!

Happy 45th Anniversary Mom & Dad

They do look a little different now...I am sure it isn't because of their wonderful children:)
Newly married couple with in laws - I am not sure why I don't have any pictures of them facing the camera, but I guess I have to take what I can get!

Holden and the Playground

This afternoon Wilson, Holden, and their friend Carter were playing in the backyard on the playground. Carter came running up the stairs and said, "Kristina, Holden is peeing on the playground!" I went running down thinking that Holden had gotten stuck on the second platform and couldn't get down, so he had wet his pants. When I started to climb up the platform to help him, I noticed the lower platform was drenched. I asked Holden what had happened and he said, "but mom look my clothes aren't wet." Wilson was laughing really hard and Carter acted mortified (Carter is the only boy with three sisters!) I asked him if he had pulled his pants down to pee and he said "yes!" I took him in the house to go to timeout.

I had to calm down before I could talk to him, so I called Ken, he didn't answer, so I called my mom and dad. They, of course, had a hard time hearing the entire story, because they were both laughing so hard.

I talked to Holden about his privates, and who had seen them, I tried to explain that not only did Wilson and Carter see them, but potentially the whole neighborhood since he was so high up on the playground. I asked him why he didn't have Wilson or Carter come and get me, so I could get him down, and he could go to the bathroom in the house, he said that neither Carter nor Wilson would help him (which is very possible.) I asked him why he would pee outside and he said, "oh, mom I was trying to help you paint", I asked him what he was painting with and he said, "my pee pee."

Needless to say I have talked to Holden about his actions, and Wilson about being a help to his brother. Holden apologized to Carter, and I explained the incident to Carter's mom, who thank goodness is a great friend, and the kind of person that laughed about the situation and adores Holden.

Quiet

Holden, Luke, and Josef were playing in the bedroom, and I noticed it was REALLY quiet. I went to check on them, and this is what I found. That is a sight that makes me SO HAPPY!

Josef's Lollipops

Josef LOVES Dum Dum lollipops. He found a stash that I had on Saturday, and anytime he can get to them he grabs one. This morning one just wasn't enough, and he grabbed the rest of the stash, opened them, and took turns suck on each one of them. He doesn't suck on them for long, well, long enough to get sticky, and then he goes and puts them in the garbage.

Thanks Grandma

When we were at LEGOLAND, Grandma bought Wilson and Holden an Easter LEGO package. Yesterday, Wilson put together his basket all by himself, and I helped Holden with the Easter Bunny. The boys had fun playing with them, and now we can put them with our other Easter things.

Wilson the Photographer

It is always exciting to see what is on my camera after Wilson has been taking pictures. I had to laugh when I saw this...oh, my boys...

Bedlamites

I loved when Elder Holland referred to the bedlam that "bedlamites" cause in Family Home Evening. Ken and I cracked up, because of course we have experienced that in our FHEs. I had to take a picture of what happened in the FHE following that talk. It was NOT bedlam, quite the opposite. The perfect picture of a father reading the scriptures to his three little boys. I took the picture for a couple of reasons. The first, it doesn't happen very often, and I need to remember that it did happen. Second, the sight made me so happy, and I need to remember how blessed I am to have such a wonderful father for my little boys.

Eric & Heidi see what you are missing...

Consider the Lilies

This is one of my favorite hymns. This hymns reminds me of the wonders of Spring, I love the Spring, and all of its beauty. The most beautiful part of Spring is celebrating the Atonement and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. I know that our Savior lives, that He loves us, and that if we have faith in Him, He will heal us.
