Thanks Grandma & Grandpa

Wilson's birthday is quickly approaching, and what kind of party does he want? Why LEGO of course. I looked online to get some little packages to give out as party favors, and I did not find much. I asked my mom and dad to go to LEGOLAND on a shopping pass to see what they could find for us. They found some great stuff for the party, plus presents for Wilson and Holden to take to parties all year long, yippee!

Grandpa sent the boys a LEGOLAND hat. Both Wilson and Holden are thrilled! Thanks grandpa!

STUCK

Josef loves to push this stool over to the window, and mess with the blinds. I can't even begin to count the times I tell him, "NO" and get him down from there. I heard him crying in his room, so I went to check on him and this is what I found. He was stuck in the blinds. I thought he should be upset for a minute (maybe that will deter him from going up there again.) I got my camera, and there is his shadow and cute little feet - I should have gotten the video camera, so you could hear his distress...

Chocolate Covered Cinnamon Bears

I LOVE chocolate covered cinnamon bears - they are delicious! I bought some yesterday at the store, and as I have been sneak one here and there Josef has been right there demanding a little bite too. I guess he got tired of the little bites , and wanted to get some himself, so he pushed the stool over to where I had them, and started helping himself!

The Many Faces of WBP

I know this is really blurry, but I had to include it, because this catches the motion he makes while creating these faces!

See the tight fist, he is pretty intense!

Nice nostrils...

Wilson is always making crazy faces at me. He can contort his face into some SCARY faces. I made him make some for me, so I could have a permanent record of what I see every day! Oh, how I love that boy!

All By Himself

Josef is such a climber. He used his toy as his stool, to climb right into his highchair all by himself. He was pretty please with himself!

Harry Potter LEGO

I have had these LEGO Harry Potter sets since I worked at LEGOLAND. I am so glad that I bought them then, because my boys LOVE them! I have been letting them "earn" the sets for the last couple of months. I keep them separate from the other LEGOs, so I hope we can keep them somewhat together. I have been trying for weeks to get them all put together, and it has not been easy. Usually Wilson and Holden end up "playing" with the other sets while I am fixing one of them, so to get them all done at the same time was not easy. I could not have done it with the Wii and Super Mario Brothers - that kept them busy while I put them all together. Now that I have pictures of what it is all set up, I will let them play more, but then again maybe not...

Aren't They Beautiful?

The chickens have been laying eggs, and we have been enjoying them! They are SO delicious, Holden and Josef love to eat them scrambled. There is such a difference between the taste of the eggs that are bought at the store, and the eggs that "Fluffy" and "Chicken Little" lay. We are so grateful for the yummy eggs!

Holden doesn't like Red

This morning I set out Holden's clothes, so that he could dress himself. I heard him tell Ken that he did not like red. I chose a black shirt, and a pair of jeans for him to wear. After he made some adjustments to his outfit, this is what he is wearing today. Red shirt, red sweatpants, read slippers, and he even chose to play with the red wii remote. I wonder if he is color blind, and doesn't realize the color that he chose to wear is RED!!!

He Figured it Out!

Peek

a boo!

I heard Josef in his room messing with the door handle. I thought I would help him out, so I opened the door. Josef did not need my help, he had pushed the ottoman over next to his bedroom door, and was playing with the light switch, and opening and closing his bedroom door. I went and got the camera, and the two of us play a little game!

MAD Hungry & Holden

Last Christmas Ken and the boys gave me the cookbook, "MAD Hungry". Lucinda has been on Martha Stewart for years, and I have always liked watching her. She always talked about her three boys, and how she loved having them cook with her. I have enjoyed her cookbook, and the other day I saw that now she has her own cooking show. I started DVRing it. It has become Holden's very favorite show to watch. He can be in his room building with LEGOs, playing computer, or coloring, but as soon as he hears the music he runs, and jumps in my lap to watch the show. He loves that two of Lucinda's boys have been on the show helping her cook. He wants to know when he will be old enough to cut up onions for me. He chats with me through the whole show, he talks about how much he loves mushrooms and pie, and really whatever they are cooking. Holden is such a passionate little guy, he drives me crazy (this morning he cuts his own hair again), but he really is a sweet little boy.
This is a quote from Lucinda, "With my new show MAD Hungry with Lucinda Scala Quinn, I’m continuing my journey as a mom on a mission to bring back the family meal and do it in an accessible, affordable and easy way. We all lead busy lives nowadays but our meals with our loved ones shouldn’t suffer- I’ve got a game plan filled with tips, tricks and survival techniques to bring good food filled with big taste to the table with straight-forward, simple and easy-to-follow recipes."
Tonight while Holden sat on my lap watching, "Mad hungry", he told me he wished that Josef was named Enoch. I asked him why and he replied, "because I want him to be a prophet." I then explained that there were a couple of prophets name Joseph too...Joseph Smith & Joseph that was sold into Eygpt...Holden has some random thoughts...

You can check out more information about her TV show here, or check out her blog here.

More Joe Joe

Last week there was a bundle of diapers next to Josef's bedroom door. He figured out that if he stood on it he could open up his door all by himself, and he thought that was pretty cool. A couple of days later, Josef tried to reenact his "trick", he put the bundle of diapers right in front of the door, and then tried and tried to open it. He did not figure out that the diaper bundle needs to be next to the door, not in front of it. I am sure my determined little guy will figure that out soon enough!

Josef being goofy!

While Josef was taking a nap, Wilson was working on his homework. Wilson didn't put his homework away. Josef saw an opportunity, with the chair down from the table, and pencil and paper, so he seized the moment and went to work!

Joe Joe

Joe Joe was just playing with me. He is a funny little guy! According to Wilson and Holden they are "grateful for the greatness that he brings to our family" - that is a direct quote from their prayers.

New Years Eve in a Fort

"How to Train a Dragon"

This is the second year in a row, that the boys have slept in a fort, and watched a movie for New Years Eve. They had a lot of fun!

New Year's Eve Party

Holden checking what Evan was playing with...I thin it was an itouch...

Ladies chit chatting!

The cousins! Annalise is a good sport about being the only little girl. She is was so cute playing with Josef and Stone. Stone really liked her!

The men, cracking some crab legs. What a seafood feast, crab legs, shrimp, and lobster tails!

Eric & Heidi

What a cute family... Bart, Shell, and Stone (we are just missing Canyon, he was playing with all of his cousins).

What a fun group of people! We are so lucky to have family living in Farmington with us!

Josef giving Stone a taste of his finger - Josef hasn't learned that what you put in someone's mouth can get a bite taken out of it!
