A Sunday Evening in Eden

Sunday we went up to the Valley for a picnic with the Toones. Emily and Becky had been working to get the yard ready for a wedding on Saturday, so Becky suggested we go up and enjoy the yard. It was a beautiful night in the Valley! The boys had fun playing catch with their dad. Ken has been teaching Wilson and Holden to catch a throw a ball.

Water Fun

Josef showing his attitude!

The kids played outside in the water this afternoon. Of course, Holden got cold and moved to the driveway to warm up with a towel. All of the kids followed him. Keaton is really into faux hawks, so since Wilson's hair was wet, Keaton decided to style it for him. I cracked up at the funny little boys, and had to snap some pictures. I thought it was little girls that liked to "do" each others hair. I am sure Keaton and Wilson will REALLY appreciate these pictures in 10 years!

Blackberries

Nice purple tongue!

I was reading to the kids in Josef's room. Josef was not listening to the story, so when the story was finished I went to find him. Josef had helped himself to the blackberries that were in the refrigerator!

Kool Aid Play Doh

Today has been filled with preparations for Father's Day, and to end the day we made Kool Aid Play Doh. The kids are having fun playing with, and I am trying not to be a freaky mom about keeping things clean!

Summer Fun

Today is finally warm enough to play in the water. We made water bombs by cutting up a sponge and then zip tying it together. Annalise and I made the bombs, and all of the kids had fun playing with them. Poor Annalise took her swimsuit home, so she had to make due with boys stuff, she is such a good sport!

Temple Square

The Church History Museum has a new children's exhibit. The kids had so much doing the various activities.

Josef LOVES Annalise, she is so sweet and kind to the little guy!

Toutie Love

Wilson, October 2006
Josef, June 2011

Wilson and Josef are BIG toutie fans. They both can't and couldn't get enough of them at this age. Holden really didn't care about a toutie. When I saw Josef do this I cracked up, and had to find the picture of Wilson!

HUGGIE Portlock

Holden has wanted a teddy bear from Build a Bear for a long time. Wilson got Paulie the Polar Bear there a couple of years ago. Today we went to Build a Bear for Holden. He picked out a cream teddy bear, he named him Huggie Portlock!

This afternoon Holden was talking to Huggie, and Wilson was answering for Huggie.

Holden, "did you just want to be loved?" Wilson, "yes." Holden, "did you just want someone to come and pick you?" Wilson, "yes, and I want a friend named Paulie." Holden, "my brother has Paulie!!!!" and he ran into their bedroom, and brought Paulie out to Huggie.

Dinosaur Park

This afternoon we went to Dinosaur Park with the kids. It is such a beautiful day! We have been cooped up all week with sick kids, Josef didn't have a fever all morning (after we got home and he woke up for his nap the DANG fever was back 103.4!)

Holden's Sleeping Hat

Last night, when Holden was going to bed, he started freaking out because he needed his "sleeping hat". He asked me to sneak in Josef's room to get it, because Josef was already in bed. I got Holden his hat, and when I went back to check on him this is what I found...He is a funny little boy!

3rd One's a Charm...I hope!

Last night on the sofa...he was burning up....and shivering!
Josef is now the third boy to get the "disease"! Last night his fever went up to 104.2F before the ibuprofen kicked in. He woke up with a fever 101F, but he has not acted like he is sick at all. He won't eat, but is drinking plenty of fluids. Ken came home early today, so I went out to run some errands, and when I came home Ken had him outside playing in this get up...

I HATE it when my boys are sick, hopefully we are finished being sick for a VERY long time!

Swimming Lessons

Wilson and Holden started swimming lessons last Saturday. They had so much fun. Keaton and Wilson are in a class together. I am so happy that my boys are growing up with cousins so close!

Late Afternoon

It has been difficult for the kids to get accustom to a summer schedule. Yesterday afternoon the kids were so whiny, I told them that I need to schedule a nap time each afternoon. All of them were VERY OPPOSED, but this is what they looked like....

I still think I am right...and I think these pictures prove my point!

Clean Boys

I love my boys after a bath. It is fun to play outside in the summer, and then wash all the guck (sweat, dirt, chalk, sunscreen...) away at the end of the day...slather on some Burt's Bees lotion...get in pj's...that is the BEST!

His First Lost Tooth

Now you see it...

Now you don't!

He had his last day of Kindergarten and lost his first tooth all on the same day! The tooth could have come out a couple of days ago, but Wilson has a squeamish mom, so we waited for Auntie to do it! Tooth Fairy here we come!
