Josef

Josef has started to make the funniest face - he loves to wrinkle up his nose. I have been trying to get a picture of it, and have been unsuccessful so far....I did get this picture of that sweet face though....

Matthew

Wilson and Holden love playing with Matthew. Matthew is so nice to them both. Matthew came over on Saturday to play, Sunday for dinner AND he got to come and play today! The boys were so excited to see them. They all played LEGO Star Wars, rode bikes, swung in the playground and basketball - what a fun afternoon!

I tried to get a picture of the four boys. I thought three was hard...well four is harder!

Spring Inside the Portlock's Home

Last week, I planted wheat grass and paper white bulbs with the boys. It has been fun to check every morning with the boys to see what has grown. Wilson and Holden were so excited this morning when one of the paper white blossoms opened. I love the wheat grass for Easter grass, Blake and Heidi tried to talk me into make wheat grass shakes last night (I know it is really good for you but...)

Red Velvet Cupcakes

Yesterday we had Heidi, Blake, Whitney & Matthew over for dinner. I have been wanting to make red velvet cupcakes from the Martha Stewart Cupcake Book, so this was the perfect chance. Holden is a BIG fan of the cupcakes. He wanted one before he even finished his cereal. I know I should be such a wimp, but.....

Time to Take a Break

On Saturday, we worked in our garden. We planted radishes, beets and peas...every year it is a new adventure! Wilson helped his Dad. When I peeked out the window to check on them this is what I found...

Afternoon Activities

Wilson was busy putting together puzzles with his cool googles...
Puzzles were not adventurous enough for Holden, he needed his viking hat, pumpkin costume, batman cape and light saber...
I wish the picture was better but he was on the move....

This is for you Grandpa!

My mother has caged me in....

If I could just touch you....

Oh, Holden

Josef was in his saucer playing with his toutie in his mouth. I was on the phone, and Holden was playing with Josef. I heard Josef spitting, and looked over at Josef, and this is what I saw.....Holden is a funny boy!

My Beautiful Dog

This afternoon, Holden was coloring intently. When he finished, he asked me to come and look at his "beautiful dog", he then said "see it is colorful".

Random thoughts

I want to remember the cute things that Wilson and Holden say. I am not very good at remembering or writing them down...but I am trying.
On Saturday, I was talking to Holden about making lunch. I asked him if he wanted a chicken salad sandwich, and he replied, "no, mom let's make ice cream sandwiches for lunch." Now when I ask him about a sandwich, he wants ice cream sandwiches.....
This morning, I was cleaning up the kitchen after breakfast. Holden and Wilson were cartoons on watching TV. I heard two little girls talking mean to each other, and I said to the boys "those little girls aren't talking very nicely", Wilson looked at me and said, "mom this show teaches friendship and problem solving skills". I thought I was going to bust out laughing.
Wilson and Holden are getting so big. They are both good little boys. Wilson always wants to make everyone happy. Holden wants to be a good boy, but he really struggles with doing that!

I thought he was sleeping...

Yesterday afternoon, I put Josef down for a nap. About 20 minutes later, Ken came and got to peek in on Josef. This is what he was doing....not sleeping! He has gotten so mobile. We need to put the gate back up, and make sure there are not LEGOS in the living room. He is rolling all over, our life is changing again!

mmmmmmm Cheerios

Josef loves to play, toss and eat Cheerios. He is getting pretty good putting them in his mouth. He still needs work on keeping them in his mouth. After he has had Cheerios, my kitchen needs to be swept or I crunch Cheerios all over!

King Wilson

Strawberries

This morning I got our bountiful basket. In it was this container full of strawberries. Ken and Wilson were downstairs playing Star Wars, and Holden went up stairs to "play". When Ken came up to check on Holden, there was red "stuff" on the counter. Ken then saw some strawberry leaves. Holden had taken the strawberries out of the refrigertor, bit the tip off of all the strawberries in the container except two, and finshed a couple of the strawberries completely! Holden then closed the container and put it back in the refrigerator. I just don't know what to do with the boy!

The Love of Toutie

There is it, and it is within his reach...
Josef is almost there...

He got it to his mouth....

Now it is in his mouth...

and, well, one is just not enough...

Josef loves his toutie (pacifier). He is much like Wilson was at this age. One is not always enough for Josef. When he is drinking his bottle, he loves to have one in his hand and bang it on the bottle.

Josef's Newest Tricks

Josef loves to play on the floor. He is getting great at balancing himself, and controlling his body to get what he wants. It is fun to watch him concentrate on what he wants, and then see him get it!

The Chef

Holden was really sad this afternoon, because Wilson went to play at a friends house. He helped me get the Easter stuff out, and decorate. I then had to start dinner, so he was getting into everything "trying" to help. I finally told him to go downstairs and make something on his bbq. He went downstairs and brought back up the apron and hat for me to put on him. Then a little later he came back up with this delicious hamburger. Holden is such a funny little boy!

Cousin Keaton

Keaton came to play yesterday and today. It has been so much for the boys to get to play with him. Wilson and Holden both love Keaton, and want to play with him all the time. The three boys had fun playing together. This is at the end of the day, they were playing LEGO, and then decided to play silly faces.
